Mental Health and Wellness: a general overview of selected diagnoses and treatments available. This topic is helpful for people to learn about mental health issues and ways that they, themselves can manage symptoms or can support a friend, co-worker, or loved one to cope.
Stress Management and Mindfulness: After developing an overview of meditation and mindfulness techniques for Riverview Hospital in 2005, this topic would focus on interactions and the use of tools to manage everyday stress. Through the use of breath, visualization, and mindfulness techniques, participants will learn the importance of activating the parasympathetic nervous system for overall wellness.
School Based Mental Health: A variety of topics, from an overview of the importance of and perspective shift of staff that is needed to create a comprehensive system of support, to the logistics of setting up a clinic within a school system. In addition, Mental Health 101: what every teacher should know, helps with mental health literacy of staff to support students dealing with mental health issues.
Motivation and Empowerment Talks: As a speaker, Christie has addressed topics around happiness, wellness, self-care and team work. This area can be individualized to an organization's needs. For conferences, the message can be tailored to the unique theme and audience.
